On November 2, 2019, on the occasion of the 35th ASEAN Summit and related conferences, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand Anutin Charnvirakul witnessed the signing of the MoU for investment partnership between B. Grimm Power Energy Company under B. Grimm Group (Thailand) and PetroVietnam Power Corporation (PV Power) under Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group.
Attending the signing ceremony were also Minister, Chairman of VPCP Mai Tien Dung, Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh. On the PV Power side, there was Mr.Ho Cong Ky, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Le Nhu Linh, General Director of the Corporation.
In the coming time, PV Power strategy is expected to research and develop more imported LNG projects, gas power plants in Ca Mau, Kien Giang, Quang Ninh ... as well as renewable energy projects. created to contribute to providing energy security and national economic development.
B.Grimm Power Energy Company (BGP), an investment arm of the Thai group B.Grimm, has a strong position in the construction of power projects using renewable energy such as solar and wind power. ... Currently, B.Grimm Group is operating 45 power projects with a total installed capacity of 2,892 MW, including 24 solar power generation projects, 17 thermal power projects, 3 hydropower projects and a diesel power generation project. In addition, the group is also developing 11 more power projects that, when completed, will increase total capacity to 3,245 MW. In Vietnam, BGP cooperates with partners to invest in building a diesel power plant in Bien Hoa with a capacity of 13 MW, operating since 1999, Dau Tieng 1 & 2 solar power plant project (Tay Ninh province). With a total capacity of 420 MWp, the Phu Yen solar power plant project (Phu Yen province) with a capacity of 256 MWp, commercially operational in June 2019.
The memorandum of understanding signed this time holds PV Power and B. Grimm Power to focus on joint research and investment in a series of warehouse projects, LNG ports, gas power plants in the region of Ca Mau and Kien Giang provinces. and exchange experiences in the operation, maintenance and repair of power plants.
