Thanh Long Primary School located in Ham Yen District, is a well care place for many poor pupils in tough circumstances. Located nearly 40km far away from Tuyen Quang city, Thanh Long school located in Thanh Long commune is an extremely tough area with 90% being ethnic minority, the poverty rate according to 2019 figures is 18.64%., with rugged mountainous terrain, insufficient facilities, seriously damaged inter-district roads, pupils have to go to school far from home, not enough food to eat, clothes to wear but still maintain hardworking mind.
Feeling the hard situation of student, PY TTP had an opportunity to visit this school, that was one of the program’s series volunteer activities that the company always launches every year, directly talked and understand clearly student difficulties on 13 May 2020. 25 gifts included school bag and cash with total value of 500USD were given as an encouragement to motivate students in difficult circumstances.
Through conversations with the Principal of Thanh Long School, recognizing the school is still lacking of facilities, learning tools, PY TTP decided to give away a large sunshade and cash with total value 1000USD, with the desire of improving school condition.
At this moment, PY TTP leaders had the opportunity to meet and talk to Dang Van Khuyen, and directly experienced the story of the special difficult situation of that boy which are well-known by many people. He was only 10 years old, but he has experienced miserable life since childhood because his parents left him long time ago. Khuyen lives alone, takes care of himself, without stranger’s the support, his meal is only rice and bamboo shoots picked. With the donation of Thanh Long’s teachers and others people, his father funeral had a chance to organize in hometown. Through many incidents, but he is still resilient, strong and maintains the spirit of studiousness, a meaningful gift from PY TTP express the sincerely, send a wishes of luck for his healthy, resilience and effort in learning and life.
At the end of the beautiful and humane trip, member from PY TTP had an intimate meal with teachers and students to learn more about the lives of people in the area. On behalf of the entire school, Principal Nguyen Thi Thu Trang thanked the company TTP PY for accompanying the school in this difficult test and hopes to invite more members in the near future to visit the school and the children.
